The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas Territory. There is no formal British diplomatic representation and the local authorities deal with all requests for consular assistance. The Governor’s Office will assist British nationals in cases of genuine Emergency wherever possible. Most visits are trouble-free, but you should take sensible precautions to protect your personal belongings and safety. The hurricane season normally runs from June to November. There is a low threat from terrorism.
